Daniel is an Olivier Award-winning West End producer and theatrical general manager, and has produced plays and musicals in London, the UK, Sydney and on Broadway.

 

London  based, but originally Australian, Daniel developed and produced the award-winning West End stage adaptation of Pedro Almodóvar’s  All About My Mother at The Old Vic (co-production with The Old Vic and Neal Street) in 2007 starring Dame Diana Rigg, Lesley Manville, Mark Gatiss, Colin Morgan and Joanne Froggat.  There has since been 23 different productions in 18 different languages internationally.

 

Subsequent West End productions include Three Days of Rain, starring James McAvoy, Holding the Man starring Jane Turner (from ‘Kath and Kim’), Michel Legrand’s ‘The Umbrellas of Cherbourg’ directed by Emma Rice, in collaboration with Kneehigh Theatre, the Olivier Award winning Sweeney Todd starring Michael Ball, Stiles and Drewe’s new musical Soho Cinders, the recent Palladium revival of A Chorus Line and on Broadway, Exit the King, starring Geoffrey Rush and Susan Sarandon.

 

In late 2015, he produced the Sydney premiere of David Williamson’s hit play “RUPERT” charting the life of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, starring Oscar nominated multi Emmy-award winning actor James Cromwell (“Babe”, “LA Confidential”, “Six Feet Under”) as Murdoch and Australian TV comedy icon Jane Turner (Kath from “Kath and Kim”) as Margaret Thatcher. 

In 2019 he produced the Olivier award nominated West End version of the Australian play with music "SONGS FOR NOBODIES" by Joanna Murray-Smith and starring Bernadette Robinson.

 

He is currently developing several new projects including ‘Only the Brave’ a new musical by Matthew Brind and Rachel Wagstaff which had its premiere in 2016 at Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre.

pop jam productions

Popjam Productions is an Adelaide based production company established by Amity Dry in order to produce and tour manage the original musical ‘Mother, Wife and the Complicated Life’ (MWCL) and its revised version ‘The (M)other Life’. 

 

Popjam has produced and tour managed every season of MWCL since 2013 including an Adelaide/Melbourne/Sydney tour in 2013, the New York Musical Theatre Festival Workshop and Season in 2013, the ‘Commission for the Status of Women Conference’ at the United Nations and industry showcase at 54 Below New York in 2014 and a 45 show metro and regional Australian tour in 2015. 

 

Popjam Productions also produces and tour manages Amity Dry’s cabaret shows, with sell out seasons in the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Melbourne Comedy Festival and numerous national tours.
